Support group for parents in bereavement

Meetings of Support Group for mourning parents take place every two weeks. Assisted by a priest and psychologist parents create close bonds helping them to go through the ordeal of their life. The relationship enables them to build up a safe anchorage of sympathy, empathy and sensitivity to one another.

Meetings are held every other Wednesday at 5 pm in Hospice headquarters at 10 Nastrojowa Street.

Integration meetings for mourning siblings

A psychologist together with social worker, teacher and priest organize a series of integration meetings for mourning siblings. They take place regularly in off-school time and include therapeutic elements combined with attractive and active leisure. The forms of recreation and the theme of a meeting go with the time of a year.

‘Winter in the city’ is an integration activity on the skating rink, while ‘Summer in the city’ take place in a bowling alley or playground. Meetings of the same group members are a wonderful opportunity to get to know one another. Common experience and memories constitute a bond which may prove invaluable in difficult times.

Families in mourning pilgrimage to Jasna Góra

On 30th May 2009 families in mourning went on a pilgrimage to Częstochowa connected with exploring the neighbouring castle in Olsztyn. The main aim of the outing was prayer, but also having a good time together and integration at a barbecue. The event was led by priest Andrzej, psychologist Piotr and nurse Ola. We do our best to make the trips follow a cyclical pattern. We are planning further journeys.

Integrative-educational trip for mourning siblings

On 15-17th June 2009 the Hospice organized a trip to Cesarka near Stryków for the mourning siblings. Therapy, education, integration and leisure were the main objectives. Socio-therapeutic classes run by a psychologist and teacher together with volunteers served the cause. There were also games in the open air, art workshop, hippotherapy, dog-therapy with ‘Ama Canem’ Foundation. Good weather, beautiful forest and a brilliant mood contributed to everybody’s well-being, too.
